One way that CLA may support lean muscle mass is by increasing the production of certain proteins involved in muscle growth and maintenance. For example, CLA may stimulate the production of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), which is involved in the growth and repair of muscle tissue. CLA may also help reduce the breakdown of muscle tissue by inhibiting the activity of enzymes that break down muscle protein. Additionally, CLA has been shown to increase the expression of genes involved in fat metabolism, potentially leading to an increase in energy expenditure and a decrease in body fat. This shift in body composition, with an increase in muscle mass and a decrease in body fat, can lead to a leaner physique and improved body composition overall.*

Studies have shown that CoQ10 may promote lean muscle mass by supporting the mitochondria, which are the energy-producing organelles within cells. Mitochondria play a crucial role in muscle function, and CoQ10 is a necessary component for their proper functioning. By supporting the mitochondria, CoQ10 may help improve muscle energy production and overall muscle function.*

Additionally, some studies have found that CoQ10 supplementation can help reduce oxidative stress in the body, which can be beneficial for muscle health. Oxidative stress can damage muscle tissue and contribute to muscle weakness, so reducing oxidative stress may help protect and preserve muscle mass.*

Research has suggested that urolithin may help to enhance muscle growth and prevent muscle wasting by activating a cellular process called mitophagy. Mitophagy is a process by which damaged or dysfunctional mitochondria (the energy-producing organelles in cells) are removed and replaced with healthy ones. This is important for muscle health because mitochondria are essential for producing the energy needed for muscle contractions.*

Research suggests that ursolic acid may support muscle growth by activating a protein called mTOR, which is involved in the process of muscle protein synthesis. Additionally, ursolic acid may help improve insulin sensitivity and reduce inflammation, both of which can be important for promoting muscle health. Some animal studies have also found that ursolic acid supplementation can lead to improvements in muscle mass and strength.*
